It's a ... Volkswagen!

Tomorrow (5th December 2011) is the beginning of the DiSCUSS (Disease · Stem Cell · Unique Signaling · Standpoint) symposium initiated by our Innate Repair Laboratory (Stem Cell Biology laboratory of the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden) and sponsored by the Volkswagen Stiftung.

The aim of the symposium is to arouse more interest of the scientific community (stem cell and non - stem cell  scientists, physicians) in important topics related to stem cells (SCs): their biology and identity, signaling pathways and therapies based on SCs. Also less common approaches, like targeting endogenous stem cells (as opposite to transplantation), which is in my opinion a really promising approach, will be discussed as well as the involvement of stem cells in the normal and diseased tissues. The symposium is the first of its sort in Dresden and the Volkwswagen Stiftung deserves much respect as a sponsor.

The homepage template is based on the new LeviScientific, a professional, solid and modular theme, especially altered to meet the Volkswagen Stiftung corporate design.

IL-Pubserv started.

A great announcement for the blog:

An online publication server for the works of Ian Levenfus.

To have a reliable way to offer and spread my publications online, I established IL-PubServ (Ian Levenfus Publication Server), hosted on levenfus.com. The IL-Pubserv is accessible through pubserv.levenfus.com and ian.levenfus.com (both for the  same website).
All works published through IL-Pubserv or under the IL-Pubserv brand (IL-Pubserv as publisher and usually with the IL-Pubserv logo) are also available for free download on the publication server.
Works published under the IL-Pubserv brand may also be available through other vendors (e. g. GRIN). However, they may have an altered version of the original publication. All vendors officially permitted to offer one of my publications, are shown on IL-Pubserv on the page of the respective publication.
In some cases, the full text of the publication is shown on IL-Pubserv, in other cases, only the abstract is shown and a full text PDF-file is offered.

Works which are published in scientific journals or books, e-Books etc. usually cannot be offered on IL-Pubserv for a free download or as full text. In this cases, the publication is only listed with an abstract. Additionally, a link to the website of the vendor where the paper or the book can be downloaded or ordered is provided.
As I cannot influence the price policy of other vendors, there will be works listed here which are not available for free download. However, at least an abstract of every publication will be provided here for free and you will find many full publications without any fees, whereas you would be charged for the same publications in other places.
In some publications listed, I may just be the co-author.

Visit IL-Pubserv and stay tuned for news and new publications!

These days, IL-Pubserv is still under construction (cf. http://pubserv.levenfus.com/about).
